Meals Programs

Our Meal Programs enable seniors and adults with disabilities to access to affordable, nutritious meals to support well-being. Options include hot and frozen meals for home delivery or pick-up as well as social meals in group settings. We offer a variety of meals that are a delicious, convenient, affordable alternative to food preparation in addition to the added benefit of vital social connection and regular wellness checks by friendly volunteers.

Meals on Wheels

Hot, home-style, nutritionally balanced meals or soup and sandwich meals are delivered by volunteers at lunchtime Monday through Friday with the flexibility of ordering individually or on a regular basis. Meals are planned and prepared by certified cooks at the Villages of Halton Production Kitchen located at Allendale.

Pricing

$8.85 – HOT LUNCH with soup, crackers, bread, butter & dessert – delivered weekdays at lunchtime

$7.25 – SOUP & SANDWICH LUNCH with salad, dessert & muffin – delivered weekdays at lunchtime

$9.60 – SUPPER ON WHEELS with dessert – delivered Tuesday evening

Meals on Ice

An extensive selection of frozen meals are available for pick-up or delivery by our volunteers so you can have a delicious, nutritious meal ready anytime. Order by Friday at noon for Thursday delivery and choose daily comfort or a one-time treat. Our supplier, Apetito, also offers diabetic, low fat, low sodium, and other special diet, puree, or minced meals. A price increase for Meals on Ice is effective on November 1st, 2024.

Congregate Dining

These monthly group luncheons at designated seniors apartment buildings in Georgetown and Acton provide an opportunity for residents to socialize, meet their neighbours, participate in activities, and get access to additional supports. Meal dates and sign-up sheets are posted for residents in each building.

Wheels to Meals

Our twice a month lunchtime outings to a local restaurant provide a great opportunity to get out and socialize with friends old and new. Lunch is paid by the participant and transportation is available by volunteers for a minimal fee.
