1975

1977
Acton Community Services Centre (ACSC) replaces ACSU and adds Meals on Wheels
1980
Acton Social Services and Information Centre (ASSIC) replaces ACSC and merges with North Halton Youth Services and Acton Parent/Child Resource
1997
Halton Hills Community Support and Information (HHCSI) is the union of ASSIC, Open Door Youth Centre, and Georgetown Meals on Wheels and Parent/Child Centre (Ontario Early Years)
2006
Links2Care is formed through the amalgamation of HHCSI and HHH
The two organizations have come together to offer multiple services and easier access for seniors and people with disabilities in Halton – including Home Help, Friendly Visiting, Home Maintenance, and Client Intervention & Assistance.
In Oakville and Burlington, grocery shopping is available and a Respite Program is in development. Halton Hills offers Meals, Supportive Housing and Reassurance programs in addition to early learning and development for parents and children at Ontario Early Years Centres, Youth Centres, Community Support, and Information & Referrals.
Joan Barham, HHCSI Executive Director, says the main reason for the merger was to offer Halton Hills seniors better and easier access to services while bringing HHCSI programs into South Halton.
Links2Care will build on the more than 30 years of service offered by these agencies as the organization moves forward in supporting people of all ages in the development of a caring and responsive community.
