Position Overview
The Before and After School volunteer will assist staff in providing care for school aged children (JK and SK to grade 5). As a volunteer of Links2Care, the volunteer will actively demonstrate Links2Care values and will promote and support the mission and vision of the agency.
Duties/Activities/Responsibilities:
- Interacts professionally in accordance with Links2Care Code of Conduct and Human Rights Act.
- Maintains complete confidentiality of client information in accordance with Links2Care confidentiality/privacy policy.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment.
- Interact and engage with children in activities that take place both inside and outside of the school (playground).
- Provide support to the children and staff during snack time.
- Participates in annual volunteer survey.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with young children would be an asset.
- Proof of up-to-date immunization records with fit for work letter from family doctor.
- Completion of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check prior to start date and throughout volunteer duration as required by Links2Care. (if over the age of 18)
Boundaries and Limitations:
- Not allowed to be left alone with Children. Supervisor must always be present.
Working Conditions:
- Works in a school environment either in a classroom, gym or outside.
- Stands for extended periods of time
- Lift/carry items up to 20 lbs. (i.e. program supplies)
